factors influencing the adoption of biological control of rice stem borer (chilo suppressalis) in talesh region, iran
Authors
abstract
among the agricultural crops, rice has had the largest share in pesticide use. most of the croplosses are caused by the attack of chilo suppressalis. the purpose of this study was toexamine effective factors on adoption of biological control by farmers in talesh region ofiran. a survey study was conducted using a stratified random sampling to collect data fromfarmers in the selected rural areas of talesh. the sample population was 184 farmers. in thisstudy, results showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups ofadopters and non-adopters of biological control regarding variables of number of domesticanimals, number of plows, farm workers and kinds of fertilizers in rice field. but, there wereno significant relationship between other variables and adoption of biological control of ricestem borer chilo suppressalis

15 صفحه اولDopamine modulates hemocyte phagocytosis via a D1-like receptor in the rice stem borer, Chilo suppressalis
Dopamine (DA) is a signal moiety bridging the nervous and immune systems. DA dysregulation is linked to serious human diseases, including addiction, schizophrenia, and Parkinson's disease. However, DA actions in the immune system remain incompletely understood. In this study, we found that DA modulates insect hemocyte phagocytosis using hemocytes prepared from the rice stem borer (RSB), Chilo s...
full textCharacterization of a β-adrenergic-like octopamine receptor from the rice stem borer (Chilo suppressalis).
Octopamine, the invertebrate counterpart of adrenaline and noradrenaline, plays a key role in regulation of many physiological and behavioral processes in insects. It modulates these functions through binding to specific octopamine receptors, which are typical rhodopsin-like G-protein coupled receptors. A cDNA encoding a seven-transmembrane receptor was cloned from the nerve cord of the rice st...
